The netTAP 50 is a gateway for simple applications. It converts one real time Ethernet, Fieldbus and Serial port. It supports slave to slave and slave to master conversions. As a master, the netTAP 50 has the functionality of a full master for a single slave. This allows a single field device to be incorporated into a higher level network. The netTAP is configured using SYCON.net, a tool based on universal FDT/DTM technology. LEDs indicate status allowing instant diagnostics. Protocol conversions are loaded as firmware into the device.
